Since 2022, I have performed a regular show at the Edinburgh Fringe called ‘Songs Without Words’. It’s an instrumental music show with my friend, Simon Kempston, where we play duets on clawhammer banjo, nylon and steel string guitars, and clawhammer banjo. We’ve just finished a new album, ‘ Tangled Strings’ released on the 17th of October 2025, with a launch gig on October the 15th in The Doublet Bar in Glasgow

Paul Tasker is a guitarist and songwriter based in Glasgow, Scotland and is known for his solo instrumental music and his work with Scottish nu-folk duo The Doghouse Roses and previously with American gothic folk band The Willard Grant Conspiracy.
Self taught and performing (mostly) on guitar and clawhammer banjo, Tasker’s solo instrumental work can be though to adhere to Brian Reno’s theory of ambient music while Doghouse Roses have been described as ‘Our version of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings‘ (Americana UK)
